Lextron Animal Health Presents Check to Nebraska FFA

(Lincoln, Neb.) – A busy week of business and industry tours by the Nebraska FFA state officers, August 3-7, yielded a welcomed bonus from Lextron Animal Health. Lextron, located in Columbus, Neb., presented the officers with a check for $905 earned from a nationwide program sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health.

For eligible purchases of Pfizer Animal Health vaccines last spring, Lextron earned dollars to put toward a donation to FFA. Lextron chose the Nebraska FFA Foundation as their beneficiary. In addition to cash donations, veterinarians and animal health suppliers had an opportunity to engage FFA members in discussions about rewarding careers in animal health.

“This was a terrific program that created a win-win situation for everyone involved,” said Jeff Miller, Division Manager for Lextron Animal Health – Nebraska. “We enjoyed our visit with the officers and are always impressed by FFA members. An investment in these young people is money well spent.”

According to Tammy Meyer, executive director of the Nebraska FFA Foundation, the annual business and industry tours are a highlight of the year. The officer team has an opportunity to interact and learn from some of Nebraska’s most influential agricultural leaders while thanking them for their support.

Organizations provided the officers with an overview of their businesses, discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the industry, and offered career-planning advice. In return, the officers answered questions and shared updates regarding Nebraska FFA and agricultural education from the student perspective. This year’s officer team visited 15 businesses and organizations throughout Nebraska.

“The donation from Lextron Animal Health was one of the highlights of our week. We are grateful to them and Pfizer Animal Health for making this program possible,” said Katie Frenzen, Nebraska State FFA President. “Meeting with sponsors really emphasized the importance of spreading the word about agriculture and issues facing the industry. It also served as a reminder to never take those who support us for granted. It was a fantastic week and we appreciate all they do.”
