Goal: $240,000 in matching gifts—$1,000 at a time
 There is no doubt. Dr. Ted Ward was definitely “True Blue.” An FFA member as a young man. Nebraska State FFA Secretary. And a career as Agriculture Education Director. His passion for agricultural education in Nebraska—and for FFA—lives on through the Ted Ward Legacy Fund.
Upon his death, Dr. Ward bequeathed $240,000 to the Nebraska FFA Foundation. Our goal is to match his generosity with gifts in the amount of $1,000 from 240 individuals.
The funds from the Ted Ward Legacy fund will be invested and used only for funding new and innovative ideas and programs—such as the recently published Introduction to Environmental and Agricultural Science curriculum.
The intent is to treat this fund somewhat like an endowment, using only the interest generated to support the needs of agricultural education and FFA in Nebraska. The only exception to this intent would be an immediate and critical need, which would require additional emergency funding in a specific year.
